After the recent death of her husband Carl Dean, Dolly Parton took to Instagram on Thursday (March 6) to share a “love note” to her family, friends, and fans. “Thank you for all the messages, cards and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl,” the country superstar wrote. “I can’t reach out personally to each of you, but just know it has meant the world to me. He is in God’s arms now, and I am okay with that.” Parton ended the emotional post by quoting her own 1982 classic hit, writing “I will always love you.” The couple, who were married for nearly 60 years, initially bonded over music while listening to the car radio together on the day they met. “I don’t remember what it was playing, but it was loud and it was rock ‘n roll,” Parton recalled in a 2023 Billboard interview. She dedicated her chart-topping 2023 album, Rockstar, to Carl because he “always loved” the genre. “The harder [and] louder, the better,” Dolly says. (Billboard)
