Keep Kids Warm Auction

Keep Kids Warm is Treasure Valleys largest  coat drive and fundraiser to assist in need families with their gas bills during the winter months

How it was born
Keep Kids Warm started by a phone call to the KISSIN 92.3 studios in December of 1996. The station was contesting for cash when a phone call came in from a young girl who asked:  “If I can’t win the money, can I win some heating oil for my family…our house is cold, and we just want to be warm for Christmas…” Kissin’ and  their listeners immediately  took action.   That call generated an outpouring of calls and donations, and before that morning was over, an account had been set-up, and Keep Kids Warm was born. That year around $17,000 was raised, and the money not only helped the girls family, but several others around the Treasure Valley. Listen to the original Call (edited for time)
How it Works

Keep Kids Warm partners with Intermountain Gas who directs all funds to assist qualifying families with hardships for gas & heating bills. The funds for families in emergency heating situations are dispersed through the Malheur & El-Ada Community Action Agency, & the Western Idaho Community Action Program, Inc.

Keep Kids Warm is the Treasure Valleys best known coat drive. We provide warm clothing and winter coats for children in need. Tens of thousands of coats have been collected, cleaned, and donated to families in need. The clothing is given out through the community action groups who also disperse the funds for Keep Kids Warm.

Funds are raised through station sponsored events &  donation options inserted through all billing from Intermountain Gas.  Keep Kids Warm kicks into full swing October 1st  accepting coat donations at designated locations & accepting  auction items for the annual on-air auction and new this year an ONLINE auction that will take place December 15th19th.  Like last year, the auction will include cars, guitars, and other autographed items by famous country & sports stars!

Keep Kids Warm is excited to team up again in 2014 with the Idaho Steelheads and offer drop locations and fundraising Steelhead games and events to benefit Keep Kids Warm!

From 1996 to 2013 we were able to raise $812,489 and collect thousands of coats.
In 201
4 our goal is to hit the $1,000,000 mark and raise $111,000!
