Cory and Jeni

Cory Mikhals was born and adopted in Los Angeles, but his parents retired when he was 7 and moved to Oroville, CA. Growing up on the lake, he learned to fish and loved to water ski!

Always the ham, Cory gravitated towards theatre and public speaking. Over the years he starred in and directed many local theatre productions. His senior year of high school he was approached by a news director at a local radio station about working for the hometown
radio station and that was the beginning of his over 28 year radio career.

Cory has worked in Oklahoma, Oregon and was most recently Operations Manager in Monterey California for 7 years before deciding to move his family to Idaho in 2002. He wanted a better quality of life and he found it in Boise. After almost 12 years at KQFC, Cory has now moved to the other side of the Cumulus building and has been doing the “Cory and Jeni In The Morning” show since February 2014. His love of country music and the great outdoors is a big reason for his happiness in Boise, along with finding the love of his life, his wife Heather. Now watching his kids become adults, enjoying all that life has to offer with Heather and spending good quality time with cherished friends keep Cory quite satisfied.

When not spending time with family and friends, Cory was on the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics of Idaho, working on Camp River Run (a camp for kids with life threatening illnesses), helping the American Red Cross of Idaho, the March of Dimes, Safari Club, the Children’s Miracle Network, Habitat for Humanity or planning this year’s Cory and Jeni Adopt A Family week. Cory also developed and implemented the “Cover the Blue” food drive, covering the blue turf of Boise State University with canned goods to benefit the Idaho Food Bank.

“This is my home, I love it and will do anything to make it the best it can be!”
