During a recent appearance on the Superstar Power Hour with Katie Neal, Jordan Davis confirmed that he has completed his new album. The country star said his forthcoming record drew inspiration from his Louisiana ties, while exploring a more rootsy and bluesy sound. “I’m proud of the songs that we’ve put together,” Davis says. “I’m proud of some of the risks we took on some of these songs… now we’ll put it out and see how it goes.” While much of the project’s details remain under wraps, Davis said he aimed to capture the natural feel and sound of his 2018 debut album, Home State. Davis also said he was heavily influenced by the music of Amos Lee and Marcus King during his songwriting retreats for the new album. “It’s been really cool to see the sounds and the songs that came out of those,” Davis says. “It’s kind of cool to reinvent and not do the same old thing that you’ve been doing.” (Audacy)
