On Saturday (February 1), Jelly Roll hosted a free benefit concert at the Rose Bowl to support relief efforts following the Los Angeles wildfires. The event was attended by almost 16,000 people, primarily comprising firefighters and first responders along with their families, including over 1,000 incarcerated firefighters. The country superstar was joined at the benefit by Lainey Wilson, Marshmello, Public Enemy, Shinedown, and Nate Smith. Jelly got emotional during his hits-filled set, taking time to pay tribute to those who risked their lives to combat the devastating fires. “I want you to know that you are here tonight because you are a hero, or you are a loved one of a hero,” he said. To close out the show, Jelly and Wilson sang their 2023 ballad, “Save Me,” with Lainey sharing on TikTok, “It was an honor to thank some heroes alongside him at the Rose Bowl Stadium last night. Thank you to all the first responders out there who have showed up time and time again.” (Holler)
