Caldwell Police were involved in a standoff at the Caldwell Walmart on Ustick on Monday.

Police were called in around 2pm Monday afternoon about a suspicious man in the restroom. Police recognized the man from an earlier disturbance and believed the man was a felon and armed.

Crisis negotiators made contact with the suspect, and he later gave himself up and is now in custody.

That suspect has been identified as Cody Burnett, a known felon, who was carrying a handgun.

The standoff lasted three hours before Burnett was brought in without shots or violence. Burnett is charged with malicious injury to property and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
