The Boise Fire Dive Rescue Team was conducting training on the Boise River when they found and then recovered the body of a missing kayaker.
The man has been missing since early this month. Witnesses reported he put in the river at Barber Park, and his last known location was in the middle of the river channel near the E. Parkcenter Bridge on May 1st.
The kayaker was found about a quarter mile from where he was last seen.
Prior to the body being recovered yesterday, Boise Fire had used the river rescue boat to search for the man, and Boise Police with drones, but the inflatable kayak was the only thing found.
The Ada County Coroner will identify the victim pending the notification of family.
