Boise River flows possibly increase to 6000 cfs

The flows on the Boise River will increase today, (Thursday) according to the Army Corps of Engineers.

The flows will increase to around 5,500 cubic feet per second this afternoon and could be as high as 6,000 cfs by Monday depending on weather conditions.

The reservoirs that feed into the Boise River are currently at 62% capacity.

The continued release of water will reduce flooding risk due to the periods of high snow runoff later this spring as temperatures continue to warm up.

Officials are expecting a full supply of water this irrigation season.

Officials are warning that the water is deep, cold, and fast. People should use extreme caution near riverbanks.
