Tuesday was a big day for homeless people in the Treasure Valley.
Interfaith Sanctuary celebrated the groundbreaking of its new facility located on State St. west of Veterans Memorial Pkwy in the old Salvation Army building.
Interfaith faced a long and vocal opposition to the relocation of its shelter for homeless people.
After numerous hearings and legal challenges Interfaith Sanctuary broke ground as the formal beginning of construction to retrofit and remodel the building into a shelter that will provide overnight shelter, warm meals, and support services to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness.
