Nampa Police warn of ongoing scam

We have a scam alert out of Nampa.

The Nampa Police Department is warning that they have received multiple calls that someone claiming to be Lt. Maxey with the Nampa Police Department is calling them.

CBS2 reports this call is not from the Nampa Police Department.

In the conversation, the scammer asks for personal information, like your social security number, and he talks about warrants that do not exist.

Do not give him information, because there is no Lt. Maxey at the Nampa Police Department.

Be cautious anytime you do business with someone you do not know.
