Boise on track for hottest August on record

(From CBS 2 News)

Boise is on pace to see it’s hottest August on record, since records began in 1875.

According to data from the National Weather Service, Boise averaged 82.8 degrees Fahrenheit through August 26th. The next closest average is 78.7, set back in 2001.

It is important to note that there are still a few days left in August. Over the weekend (Aug 27, 28) temperatures were much cooler, but three projected hot days in a row (Aug 29-31) will likely keep the average temperature above 80, the first time that’s ever happened in August in the City of Trees.

As for the whole summer, 2022 is currently on pace to be the second hottest summer on record (June-August). 2021 was the hottest, with an average temperature of 78.0 degrees.
