Dry conditions already being felt

The forecasted drought and overall dry conditions appear to already be taking effect.

The Army Corps of Engineers said Wednesday that Boise River basin boat ramps at Robie Creek, Macks Creek and half of Barclay Bay will be closed this summer due to low water supply.

Lucky Peak reservoir is currently discharging about 2,800 cubic feet per second for irrigation.

The water supply in 2021 was lower than normal, making 2022 the second consecutive low water year.

CBS 2 News reports, carryover in the system from 2021 was lower than average and the dry year and numerous constraints on the system will make Lucky Peak difficult to fill.
