A suspect is in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting in Boise.
Boise Police began investigating a reported child abduction on Sunday evening.
Police say the suspect, who is known to the family, left with a 14 year-old boy. Officers believed the boy was in immediate danger.
Officers located the suspect while driving and attempted a traffic stop but eventually had to perform a PIT maneuver to stop the suspect’s vehicle around 36th and Eyrie.
Boise Police Chief Ryan Lee tells CBS 2 News – there was a confrontation between the suspect and officers – and the officers were compeled to use exercise force.
The suspect is undergoing treatment following surgery, and the child is safe.
The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force will investigate the shooting.
