Broncos land new three star Cornerback recruit

Jeron Johnson has landed his first recruit since returning to Boise State as a coach.

Dionte Thornton — a three-star defensive back from Lawndale, California — announced his verbal commitment Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.

Thornton played safety in High School, but Boise State is recruiting him as a cornerback.

Thornton made an unofficial visit to Boise State over the weekend, and he announced on Sunday that the Broncos offered him a scholarship.

The only other 2022 recruiting class member is Quarterback Katin Houser, who earned an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals, which is an annual showcase for many of the top high school quarterbacks in the country.
