Idaho Senate Republicans are opposed to plan to remove four dams along the Snake River

Following up on a story we have been keeping an eye on over the past few weeks.

Congressman Mike Simpson has a proposal to remove four dams along the Snake River to help a struggling salmon population.

It turns out Idaho Senate Republicans are strongly opposed to that plan.

Sen. Regina Bayer of Meridian is against the proposal and says, the dams play a critical role in recharging Idaho’s aquifers and are vital to our farmers, ranchers, and dairymen who rely on Idaho’s waters.

Simpson has estimated that it would cost a minimum $33 billion.
