Idaho fire crews head to Southern California

With over a dozen fires burning across California, the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise reports resources are running low.

Sunday night, the Office of Emergency Management requested strike teams out of Idaho to help out.

Local Fire Departments are sending 17 firefighters on the road for Southern California, from Sand Hollow, Emmett, Parma and Weiser .

CBS 2 News reports, this is their fifth trip to California over the years and something they stay prepared for.

These firefighters are expected to be in California for two weeks. But depending on how these fires go, they could be coming home near Thanksgiving.
