Firefighters are mopping up a fire at a home on the Boise Bench that broke out following a reported explosion early Tuesday morning.
The fire was called in around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday near Roosevelt and Kootenai Streets in Boise.
Boise Fire says the flames destroyed a detached garage at the home, and that most of the damage was confined to that space. The structure was fully-involved in flames when crews arrived.
One person who was home at the time was able to get out safely, and nobody was hurt. The homeowner said there was some damage to his home that he’ll have to patch up.
Neighbors told CBS 2 News, they heard some sort of explosion before the fire broke out. Investigators are on scene working to figure out the cause.
A portion of Roosevelt Street was closed for several hours as crews mopped up the damage, but it has since been reopened.
