Four Suspects in Kuna Gang Rape Scheduled for Trial in August

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Three men and one boy accused of gang raping a Kuna woman in February will go to trial in August.

The Idaho Statesman is reporting the trial of Swedi Iyombelo, Mulanga Rashidi, and Elias Lupango as well as a 16-year old boy identified in court papers as Ulimwengu Lupango, is scheduled to take four weeks.

The victim says she agreed to meet Iyombelo after meeting him on social media the day before. She says she agreed to have sex with him, but changed her mind when the other three showed up.

She says she feared for her life if she’d told the four no.

The four are refugees to came to Boise from Tanzania, and are being assisted in court by a Swahili translator.

They’re scheduled for a status hearing in July, and are being held in the Ada County Jail…their bail has been set at $250,000 each.
