Boise (670 KBOI News) – A bill that passed in the 2018 Idaho legislative session could save some disabled Idaho veterans a whole lot of money starting this year.
Renee Eymann with the Idaho Tax Commission says if you qualify, you can get a reduction of over $1,300 on your home and up to one acre of land.
“To qualify, you must be rated at 100% service-connected disabled, through the US Department of Veterans’ Affairs,” said Eymann. “You must also own and live in an Idaho home, that was your primary residence by April 15th of this year.”
Regular taxes would apply to land over one acre.
Eymann says if that sounds like you, go to your county assessor’s office, or to tax.idaho.gov for more information.
But you need to double time it, as with everything else dealing with taxes, you have to apply by April 15th.
