Israeli Scientists Say They Have a Cure For Cancer, St. Al’s Oncologist Says Wait and See

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Scientists in Israel say they’ve found an actual cure for cancer…which will only take three weeks to kill tumors and caner cells, will cause few to no side effects t all, and will be available in a year.

But Dr. Bobby Chawla with St. Alphonsus Cancer Center says as excited as they are to hear the news, from what he’s read, it’s way too early to make those claims.

For one thing, he says the Israeli team has only tested it on lab rats so far.

“If you look at most drugs that start in a laboratory setting, that have shown effectiveness against cancers, more than 95% of them never make it to the market,” said Chawla.  “Because as you go through these clinical trials, they discover that they either cause toxic side effects, or complications in human beings.”

He says human testing has to take all kinds of factors into consideration — age, sex, race, metabolism, type of cancer, and so on — so if the new drug does prove to be effective, it could be 5-10 years before it’s available to the public.
