Boise (670 KBOI) – An ISP trooper responding to a call for backup was cited, after he crashed into the back of a semi trailer at Gowen Road and I-84 Thursday.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the trooper, who has not been named, was headed westbound on I-84, and slowed down as he drove down the off-ramp. He hit the trailer as he was turning left onto Gowen Road.

No one was hurt in the crash…the lights and siren on the patrol cruiser were activated.

A Boise Police officer cited him for failure to safely proceed through an intersection while driving an emergency vehicle, which carries a $90 fine.

A spokesman for the ISP says the investigation is ongoing, so they can’t make an official statement yet.

The patrol cruiser was totaled.
