Shopko stores in Idaho closing

Shopko is closing stores nationwide, including its three in the Treasure Valley.

CBS 2 News reports, the company is also filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Boise’s Shopko on West Fairview Avenue is set to close March 17, followed by the Broadway Avenue store on April 8th.

Nampa’s Shopko will be the final local closure, slated for April 15th.

The Nampa store has been open for more than 30 years.

The Shopko in Meridian, near the corner of Fairview Avenue and Eagle Road, closed about two years ago.
