An Eagle man convicted of killing a pedestrian while driving drunk was sentenced to probation Tuesday, with a suspended 15-year prison term.
Adam Paulson was convicted of vehicular manslaughter in the death of Madeline Duskey, who was crossing Eagle Road in Meridian just after midnight when she was struck by Paulson’s pickup.
The Idaho Press reports, the state requested a prison sentence of 15 years that would have required Paulson to serve at least five years before being eligible for parole. However, the judge instead granted probation and a suspended sentence.
Paulson’s blood alcohol concentration during the crash was .213, more than twice the legal limit.
