Boise (670 KBOI News) – The internet is back up and running for Century Link customers across the nation, and here in Idaho, Thursday’s outage caused some headaches for government offices and civilians alike.
According to the Idaho Statesman, those customers included the Idaho Departments of Education and Correction.
In a statement Thursday, the Department of Correction said the outage affected the inmate phone system, and J-Pay, the system through which prisoners can send emails and exchange money.
At the State Department of Education, the phones weren’t working, but oddly, its internet was working, so business was being conducted via email.
Meanwhile, the outage caused problems at some businesses, like banks, credit unions, and some point-of-sale card readers.
But the good news…as of this morning, Century Link’s internet service is back up and running.
