Middleton (670 KBOI News) – The principal of Middleton Heights Elementary is on administrative leave, but she has a loyal band of supporters who want her to be allowed to go back to work.
Brenda, who doesn’t want her last name mentioned because of threats that have been made, says the full story of what happened regarding those pictures of teachers dressed in stereotypical Mexican costumes hasn’t been told, because the school board won’t let teachers talk.
“Teachers were told not to talk to any of the people, the school district, Dr. Middleton, who’s our superintendent of the schools, he’s stating personal privacy protection,” said Brenda. “So, that kind of shuts everybody else up from talking, even though they’re not calling it a gag order. But that’s pretty much what it is.”
Brenda says threats have been made against the teachers who appeared in the pictures, the parents that support them, and even the school itself.
The Middleton police said last week they’d not found any credible threats.
Brenda said there has been talk of recalling the school board members.
