Ducks, Geese Shot with Blow Darts in Julia Davis Park, IDFG Wants Your Help

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Idaho Fish and Game is asking for your help in finding some ducks and geese that have been shot with blow gun darts in Julia Davis Park.

Spokesman Roger Phillips says reports came in that three ducks and two geese had been shot, and their officers went to the park to investigate.

“We were able to trap one of the geese, and took it to a wildlife rehabilitator,” said Phillips.  “We did get a report of a private citizen who caught a duck with a blow gun dart in it, and also took it to a wildlife rehabilitator.”

If you see one of the birds, call Fish and Game at 334-3700, and if you think you may have information about who’s doing it, you can call the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 800-632-5999. Or you can click here.

Phillips says there are any number of charges the shooter could face, including hunting out of season…waterfowl season doesn’t start for another week and a half in Idaho.
