Traffic, Booze and Broadway: What You Need to Know About the Broncos’ Home Opener Saturday

Boise (670 KBOI) – The Broncos’ 2018 home opener is almost here, and thousands of fans are tingling with excitement over all the game day fun.

But Lieutenant Stan Niccolls with the Boise Police Department’s campus unit, wants everyone to stop, taker a deep breath, and listen, because there thiongs you need to know before you crack open that cold adult beverage.

For one thing, the “10-to-10 Zone” is in effect…which means you can drink in the designated area, but your drink can’t be seen.

“The alcohol has to be in an opaque cup, so grab your favorite red Solo cup, or black Solo cup, whatever it is, so you can’t see through, and whatever you’re drinking has to be in that cup.  A cozy is not going to be enough,” said Niccolls.

After the game, Broadway will be shut down to vehicles, between Myrtle and University for about 20 minutes, to allow the 5,000-10,000 fans leaving the Stadium to use the road to get back to their cars.
