Boise (670 KBOI News) – The Idaho Humane Society has its hands full feeding and caring for more than 70 cats rescued from a Boise House last week.
When they ran out of cat food, they gave Zamzow’s a call, and asked if they could help. Art Gregory with Zamzow’s says they could and did…donating more than 1,600 pounds of their top of the line, grain-free Grandma Z’s cat food to the shelter.
“The reason why we’re donating the best cat food we have is, in the 70 cats, many of them are lactating females, meaning mama cats, that are feeding baby kittens,” said Gregory. “And what mother eats, is what’s transferred to the babies.”
Gregory says some of the cats weren’t in very good condition, but the 3-4 month supply of cat food should be enough for those cats to recover, and for the kittens to grow strong.
The matter is still being investigated, so details are scarce…but the Humane Society says it looks like a hoarding situation.
