Detectives from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho Department of Lands investigators have identified the person responsible for starting the Sharps Fire.
The Sharps Fire began east of Bellevue on Sunday.
Blaine County Sheriff Harkins says an individual was interviewed by detectives and admitted to starting the fire by shooting an exploding target.
CBS 2 News reports, charges are pending and are being reviewed by the Blaine County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The identity of the individual has not been released.
Though containment increased to 29%, the overall size of the fire increased to 50,015 acres.
