The Idaho GOP convention is cominig up in June, and will be held in Pocatello this year.
For a long time, Bannock County was viewed as a Democratic stronghold in Idaho. But that could be changing.
Lance Kolbet, who was the head of the Bannock County Republicans until he stepped down recently to run for Sen. Mark Nye’s seat, said that they were holding the convention in Pocatello to seize an opportunity for the county to go more red than it has been in the past.
Kolbet says one of the best opportunities for Republicans in Idaho is Bannock County.
The Idaho State Journal reports the GOP convention will take place June 28 to 30 at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena.
Kolbet says the primary goal of the convention is to mend the divide in the Republican Party after a rough primary election.
