Boise (670 KBOI News) – It’s Memorial Day Weekend, and people across the nation will be celebrating the start of summer.
But it’s called Memorial Day for a reason…a day to remember the sacrifices made by our service men and women over the years, that male it possible for us to enjoy a weekend of camping and fishing.
Kevin Wallior, with the Idaho Division of Veterans’ Services says they’ll honor our fallen heroes Monday, at the state Veterans’ Cemetery in Eagle.
“We are holding our annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Idaho State Veterans’ Cemetery, Monday May 28th at 10:00 am,” said Wallior. “This is to remember all of our veterans who died serving in defense our great nation. It also happens to be the 100-year commemoration of Word War One.”
The ceremony will feature flyovers by A-10s from Gowen Field, and P-40s and P-51s from the Warhawk Air Museum. Lieutenant governor Brad Little will deliver the keynote address.
