School Bus Driver Cited for Running Stop Light

Boise (670 KBOI News) – A bus driver who was behind the wheel during a crash this morning is being cited for running a red light.

According to the Boise Police, there were only four students from Hawthorne Elementary aboard the bus when the driver allegedly ran a red light near State and 18th. An SUV headed south on 18th hit the bus, sending the driver to the hospital for minor injuries. That driver was treated and released.

One of the students was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. No word on his or her condition.

The bus driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, which is an infraction.
