ACHD Impact Fees Show Meridian is Growing Faster Than Boise

Meridian (670 KBOI News) – It’s not that Boise isn’t growing, because it is…but Meridian is growing faster, if ACHD impact fees are any indication.

Craig Quintana with the Ada County Highway District says Meridian paid nearly $8.6 million in impact fees last year, while Boise, which is twice as big, paid half as much…

“Meridian continues to go great guns,” said Quintana.  “Just last year, according to this report we put out, 44% of all the impact fees that were paid in Ada County came out of Meridian.  Which is interesting, because that compares to about 22% out of Boise, but Meridian by population is half the size of Boise.”

Impact fees are paid by developers, large and small, to cover the cost of the impact their projects have on the county road system.

West Ada cities in general are growing fast, but Quintana says Meridian has them all beat by a long shot.
