BLM Pays Reward to Tipster in Black Cliffs Vandalism Case

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The Bureau of Land Management is making good on its promise to pay a reward to anyone who helped them catch a graffiti vandal.

Last year, someone used purple, red and white spray paint the Black Cliffs along the Boise River east of town on Highway 21.

A tipster helped them catch the culprit, who was referred to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office. The culprit agreed to pay $5,000 in restitution costs, with criminal penalties deferred. The graffiti was removed last Fall…the defendant didn’t have to pay the labor costs of removing the vandalism.

The tipster received a $1,000 reward, the first of its kind paid out in 13 years by the BLM.

If you see someone vandalizing public land or dumping trash, call the BLM…you might be eligible for a reward, too.
