Fruitland (670 KBOI) – Here’s an update on a story we had for you earlier today.

We now know the identities of two of the three people involved in that deadly car versus pedestrian collision in Fruitland Wednesday afternoon.

Idaho State Police say Matthew Parkinson of Kuna and an unidentified minor female were killed when a car driven by Jason Verwer of Fruitland jumped onto the sidewalk and hit them.

Investigators say Verwer was driving fast on northbound Highway 95 near mile marker 64 when he lost control and hit the two pedestrians.

Verwer is being held for a mental health evaluation…the incident is being treated as a homicide.
