Dow Opens Over 26K For The First Time, But Finance Expert Says Stay Cool

Boise (670 KBOI) – Only two weeks ago, the Dow Jones Industrials closed over 25,000 for the first time ever.

Today, it opened over 26,000.

Brian Wiley, host of Idaho’s Money Show on 670 KBOI, says a lot of people are bullish about the state of the economy these days…

“I think there’s a lot of optimism, with the new tax legislation, and the pro-business environment that we’re seeing, ” said Wiley.  “Interestingly today is also the day a lot of the large money managers came out with their advice for the next quarter, their forecasts.  And surprisingly, they’re very optimistic of the US stock markets, and international markets.”

That said, Wiley is advising people to not change the way they invest now. He says it’s all about time, and having a long-term plan for investing.

But the Dow reversed its earlier gains today, to close down 10 points, at 25,792.
