A car crashed into an Ada County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle on the side of Interstate 84 early Saturday morning.
Two deputies were investigating a rollover crash on the westbound I-84, just east of Blacks Creek Road.
They were pulled over on the median side, when their patrol vehicle was hit.
One deputy was in the driver’s seat. The second deputy was standing outside, talking to the deputy sitting in the vehicle through an open window.
Both deputies saw what was about to happen. The one standing outside of the vehicle dove out of the way while the other braced for impact.
KBOI-2-TV reports, the driver’s car and the patrol vehicle sustained heavy damage.
The ACSO deputies were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and released.
The driver was treated at the scene, and was cited for reckless driving.
