(Nampa – 670 KBOI) Nampa Police are negotiating with a man holed up in a garden shed on 7th Avenue North, after a police chase which started in Caldwell this morning turned into a standoff situation.

NP)D Sergeant Tim Riha says they’re pretty sure the man is armed.  Tactical Response Team members have surrounded the home, near 6th Street North, and they’re advising people who live in the area to stay inside.  They’re also asking people to stay out of the area if they don’t have business there.

Early reports said at least one shot had been fired, but Riha said he couldn’t confirm that, only that neither the suspect nor officers were hurt.
