Meridian City Council asked for more time to consider an application for the proposed Linder Village development at Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard.
The decision was made following testimony and deliberation on the large mixed-use project that has attracted passionate support and opposition.
The council voted to take up the item again in January.
The Meridian Press reports, the decision was made to allow staff to take more time to review the application and to hear on the status of a new traffic study from Ada County Highway District.
The plan for Linder Village includes WinCo Foods, restaurants, retailers, services and housing on 81 acres on the southeast corner of Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard.
Costco Wholesale previously took an interest in Linder Village but ended up choosing a site at Ten Mile Road and Chinden Boulevard. That project is in the early stages of the approval process.
