Memorial Day Travel Trends Up

If you’re planning a getaway Memorial Day weekend, you’re not alone.

According to AAA, there will be 2.7 million more traveler’s nationally than last year…including 241,000 Idahoans taking a trip, to kick off what is expected to be a very busy travel season.

The Memorial Day weekend “official” travel period runs from Thursday, May 25 to Monday, May 29.

Most Memorial Day travelers will go by car, with a 6% increase in that mode of travel this year.

Meanwhile, 3.4 million passengers will fly – an 11% increase from the previous year and the most since AAA began tracking travel data.
