Boise City Council votes to adopt resolution protecting residents’ rights to make reproductive health decisions

During Tuesday’s City Council meeting, members voted four to two to adopt a resolution limiting the city’s response and involvement in future investigations of possible abortions taking place.

Through the resolution the city council “affirms its commitment to protecting its residents’ rights, including the right to make reproductive health decisions for themselves.”

This resolution came in response to the Supreme Court of the United States overturning Roe v. Wade and Idaho’s “trigger law” meant to follow.

Council President Elaine Clegg and Council Member Luci Willits voted against the resolution while Council Member Lisa Sanchez, Jimmy Hallyburton and Holli Woodings voted in favor of it.
