Canyon County Sheriff’s deputy involved in shooting in Nampa

A man was shot by a Canyon County Sheriff’s Office deputy Wednesday in Nampa.

The Nampa Police Department says the shooting occurred around 5 p.m. near Cassia Street and Karcher Road.

A press release from Police also says the man was treated at a local hospital and released.

The incident stemmed from an earlier shooting, as Nampa dispatch was notified that a motorist shot another motorist around 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Middleton Road and Flamingo Avenue in Nampa.

The sheriff’s deputy later located a vehicle matching the suspect’s; when the officer initiated a traffic stop, the suspect exited his vehicle and was shot.

The officer-involved shooting is being investigated by the Critical Incident Task Force.
