Boise River flows will rise starting Monday – May 17th – to support salmon migration.

The Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will increase flows downstream of Lucky Peak Dam to add more water for salmon migration in the lower Snake and Columbia rivers.

Right now, the Boise River flows are about 700 in town.

The river will be running faster and higher, but water temperatures will still be very cold. Officials are urging anyone near the river to be attentive to these changes and to use caution when near the water.

Flows will stay at these higher levels through May and then return to normal mid-summer to about 700 cfs.
