Meridian City Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to confirm Kristopher Blume as Meridian’s Fire Chief.
Chief Blume is now the 9th Chief to serve the City of Meridian Fire Department. Blume will take the helm in his new role serving his first full day as Chief today — Wednesday, February 24.
Originally from Idaho, Chief Blume joins Meridian after twenty-one (21) years of experience with Tuscon Fire Department. He is also a current instructor for the National Fire Academy and an expert in fire ground and emergency management.
During the City Council Meeting Chief Blume thanked the Mayor, Meridian City Council, Meridian Fire Department and Fire Union for the opportunity.
