Sheriff: 2-year-old boy missing in Eagle; dive team winding down search

A 2-year-old boy has gone missing in Eagle.

And now, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office says the dive team’s search for Rory Pope in the Legacy Neighborhood, is winding down due to darkness.

CBS2 reports the search will be back on first thing Thursday morning.

Police, fire, and folks in the community have been looking for Rory since he was last seen at about 12:15 p.m. on W. Nordic Drive. The child has blonde curly hair and was wearing a lime green T-shirt.

A dive team searched the neighborhood pond for much of the afternoon and early evening until darkness halted the effort.

“Police, fire, and others are doing an extensive search for missing 2-year-old Rory Pope. Dive teams are searching nearby ponds,” Ada Sheriff says. “Police have drones up. Police are collecting Ring camera footage from neighbors. People are doing ground search.”

Authorities say there were no signs of foul play, which is why an Amber Alert has not been issued.

Eagle Police and Ada County deputies will be in the area Wednesday night. Anyone who sees the child is asked to call 911.
