Idaho sending 400 National Guardsmen to Washington D.C

Idaho is sending 400 of it’s National Guardsmen to Washington D.C. to assist in guarding monuments, buildings and other property throughout the Nation’s Capital region.

Lieutenant Colonel Chris Borders has worked with the Idaho National Guard for years and says they are well prepared to help with the riots in D.C.

The Idaho National Guard said the personnel was activated Thursday and will travel on a military aircraft to report for duty Friday (today). They expect to be there for about five days.

Borders says their mission can range anywhere from protecting national monuments to assisting civil service personnel like police and firemen.
