Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints schools won’t hold live graduations over coronavirus concerns

LDS schools won’t hold live graduations because of coronavirus concerns. That is according to a release from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The church says, after careful consideration of the present circumstances, the leadership has adopted temporary guidelines effective as of March 16th. There will be no gathering for large events such as commencements, conferences, public lectures, performances and concerts.

Those events will be canceled, streamed, or recorded and posted for on-demand use. Brigham Young University will make decisions regarding athletic events.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints owns BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, BYU-Pathway Worldwide and LDS Business College.
