Idaho Property Taxes rank 14th Best in US

Here in Idaho, with property values soaring, property taxes are beginning to become a serious concern. However, a new report from WalletHub says people in Idaho pay much less in real estate taxes than most people across the country.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average American household spends nearly $2,400 on property taxes for their homes each year. Here in Idaho, that number is closer to an average of $1,400 a year.

The WalletHub report ranked Idaho as having the 14th best tax rate in the country. Comparatively speaking, residents of Hawaii pay the smallest property taxes rates in the country, however they pay a little more than Idaho residents due to the high value of homes on the island. Meanwhile, residents of New Jersey pay the most and have the highest property tax rate in the nation.
