Officer involved shooting reported in Pocatello

After a short chase by car then on foot, officers were involved in a shooting near Pocatello Monday night.

Several law enforcement agencies were trying to arrest a suspect during a drug task force investigation.

Pocatello Police reports, at about 5:30 p.m. the suspect led police on a short chase in a vehicle then abandoned the vehicle to run. He was found and police say, that is when the officer-involved shooting occurred.

CBS 2 News reports, the suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No one, other than the suspect, was injured.

An investigation is still underway, and we will have more for you when it’s available.
