The Boise Police Department says they will not ticket people for riding e-bikes and e-scooters while impaired.

Police say there’s a certain amount of personal responsibility they want people to have when riding.

While you can get a ticket for reckless riding, or having more than one person on a bike or scooter at a time, police say they will not give you a ticket for being under the influence while riding one.

Boise Police told CBS 2 News that means that unless you’re being disorderly, police are not likely to give a ticket just for being impaired on an electric bike or scooter.
